Our mission statement is:
collecting, preserving, restoration and admiration of antique
classic cars and trucks
Mid-State Cruizers car club was chartered in August of 1989 by local automotive enthusiasts interested in uniting with others fo purpose of appreciating and preserving automobiles of interest.
The original club name of “Mid-State Muscle Cars” was changed early on to “Mid-State Cruizers” as an open invitation to auto enthusiasts of every persuasion.
In August of 1990 the club organized the first Atascadero Lake Car Show to raise funds for the local community.
It has been an annual family event ever since.
In 1994 the club members with the assistance of many local businesses restored a 1955 Chevy Police car and donated it to the Atascadero Police Department. The car is used in the department’s DARE program and participates in macy events each year.
Through the years the Mid-State Cruizers Car Club has raised a substantial amount of money for the benefit of our community. Beneficiaries of past car shows have included:
“Loaves and Fishes”, The Womens’ Shelter, Atascadero Lake Pavillion, the light around the lake, Atascadero High School Auto Shop Program as well as various youth and charitable groups.
Every year on the third Saturday of August the Mid-State Cruizers Car Club hosts our annual Car Show At The Atascadero Lake Park.
The park was jammed with about 170 cars from all over California. Golden Classics to Bone Stock Cars ranging in age from dust to today, street rods. race cars. sports cars and vehicles of every description you can imagine were parked on the grass, under the trees, at the Lake Park. Droves of spectators were on hand to drink in all of the sites and enjoy the food, vendors row, and the fantastic weather.
If you haven’t been to our show, do yourself a favor and plan to attend next year. We’ll see you then!
The proceeds from the car show are put back into the community through various programs and contributions to wothwhile causes.
About every other month our club goes on an outing and cruises to a local venue for fun and entertainment. On July 1-st we took a trip to the Caparone Winery to look at Lincolns, wine tasting and lunch. We also visited the Rabbit Ridge Winery. It was an enjoyable and relaxing day.
